Orficast More is a thermoplastic material on a roll that provides a new range of clinical applications when compared to the original Orficast. The increased thickness allows you to use less material while providing the same level of support. The 3 mm thickness allows you to avoid using two layers and enables a longer working time. Orficast More is composed of threads of thermoplastic, knitted together with nylon. Orficast and Orficast More comes in boxes of 3 meters in length, and offer two-directional elasticity. Orficast More is easy to cut, and adaptable when needed. Using Orficast More for orthotic fabrication can be cost effective and save time, as most orthoses can be made without cutting a pattern. Multiple threads of Orficast More offer increased rigidity and stability. Orficast More is easy to stretch and conform to your patient’s injury and can be easily altered to avoid wasted material. The soft feeling, smooth edges, lightweight design, and ventilated material is made to encourage patient comfort and prevent maceration of the skin.
Application Techniques
Orficast More is activated in hot water like other thermoplastic materials. Orficast more is molded onto the body parts and hardens quickly. Several layers can be pressed together while warm for increased rigidity and stability. Orficast More sticks to itself when heated. This thermoplastic material features a low to moderate memory and can be reactivated and unwrapped if not completely pressed together. This feature allows you to make small corrections when necessary.

Use for traumatic and orthopedic conditions. Use Orficast More when quick and easy immobilization and stabilization of an injury is required. Orficast More can easily be molded around wrists, hands, fingers, and ankles. Use Orficast More for complex patterns such as the thumb post orthosis – using the butterfly design, CMC arthritis orthosis – using the whale design, ulnar gutter and radial gutter orthosis, and manchester orthosis. Orficast More is also ideal for orthoses that go beyond the wrist, and allow for fabrication of forearm and elbow orthoses as well.
